Fr. Sunny has devoted his life to working with India’s poor of every faith in the southern region of India.


In 1987 Fr. Sunny took his vows as a Carmelite in Kerala, India. After completing his philosophical and theological studies in Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bangalore, he was ordained a priest in 1994. From 1994 to 1995, Fr. Sunny worked as the Vocation Director of the Indian Carmelite Commissariat.


Upon the completion of the MSW program in Mangalore University, India in 1998, he was appointed the Director of the new Carmelite mission in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. During the next ten years he worked in the pastoral, social and educational programs of the mission.


In 2009, Fr. Sunny joined the Ph.D. program in Social Work at Fordham University, New York where he is continuing the program at present.
